Susan Pearson is a visual artist and illustrator from Whalsay in Shetland, "My art is inspired by island life, from the peat hills, the big skies, stoney beaches and cliffs to the people and the folklore.  I find myself attempting to capture my memories and the stories I have heard or read.  I like the notion that the figures in my paintings have a story of their own."
